It Takes Two: The Symbiosis of Employer Branding and Candidate Experience
You needn’t be a hip-hop music fan to agree that MC Rob Base might have phrased it best: “It takes two to make a thing go right. It takes two to make it outta sight.”
This rings especially true when considering such hot topics as Employer Branding and Candidate Experience. The two are key components in attracting top talent and, when balanced harmoniously, can greatly enhance a company’s reputation and retention levels. When neglected, however, the damage can be severe:
“Ghosted after three interviews. Poor communication throughout the entire application process.”
“Micro-managers make for a toxic work environment with zero team morale. I’m beyond over it.”
“A revolving door of unhappy people. Don’t walk, RUN from this employer!”
Such cringeworthy reviews are completely avoidable! But it bears questioning: Why navigate constant turnover? Why tolerate being understaffed? Why overburden your existing team members? We’re tackling these questions and more in this two-part series.
- Part 1 - It Takes Two to Make a Thing Go Right: We provide an overview of Employer Branding and Candidate Experience; how they overlap and compliment one another.
- Part 2 - It Takes Two to Make it Outta Sight: We dispel misconceptions whilst providing tips, strategies and considerations to entice quality hires.
